Essex and Wales collide when Gavin and Stacey fall for each other, taking their friends, family and baggage with them. With the exception of the walls of the first episode, which were shot on location in London, the entire series, including the walls from the film, was filmed in Wales. Essex. The house that the Shipmans built. The house (the Gavin family) is in Dinas Powys, a village 1 mile north-west of Barry, where the Westies (the Stacey family) live. In the third series, the number plates of Bryn and Gavin’s cars are completely different from the numbers in the previous series. Gavin’s blue Saxo T-reg (1999 model year) has been replaced by an X-reg (2000 model year). Brin’s green Picasso changed from CV02 (model year 2002, registered in Cardiff) to HV54 (model year 2004, registered in Portsmouth). These are clearly different cars. I have to say that I don’t quite understand the previous reviewer, because I think he’s on a different planet than everyone else, and I felt obligated to clarify. Gavin & amp; “Stacey” is one of the best comedies I’ve seen in years. With a great cast and a brilliantly written script by Ruth Jones and James Cordon. The show revolves around Gavin (a guy from Essex) and Stacey (a secretary from Barry Island) who start their relationship over the phone while at work. The reaction to the series is so good that a second series has already been ordered.
