However, he pitched the idea for this third film and was brought on board as an executive producer. The first two Paddington films were great fun and full of charm, along with some superb cameos.
The performances are generally a little awkward or underdeveloped and there are precious few laughs
This film never quite gets off the ground and you wonder what happened to the writers. A real shame because Paddington 2 in particular was a gem, led mainly by Hugh Grant who was superb but ably supported by the prison crew.
Paddington 3 is very banal in comparison
it could have used a much better script, more developed characters and funnier action scenes. An hour after watching it, you probably won’t remember it at all…
